Hi Gents:

Seems I have quite the fetish for little British motoring. A couple years ago, I built a locost se7en from scratch ( Lookie here! ). It was a great project, but took quite the toll on my young family.

Then I got bored and decided to build a couple cafe racers ( lookie again! ). Those were fun, but I'm really a car guy. The whole time I was building these projects, my wife was begging me for a little sports car to go run errands in or to hit the wine bar, etc. Well, I'd been saving for a TIG for a while, and when Christmas came around, I decided to spend my savings on a little Midget for her.

She loved it, as do the kids. However she has a blown engine. So, I want to do a frame off (so to speak) resto on her. The engine will either be a Miata or a 5-valve 4a-ge. My wife wants to Toyota. Hopefully I can do it in less than 2 year and for less than $9k--the cost of my se7en.

So I'm cleaning out the garage now, and I'm anxious to tear into her. Any suggestions are well appreciated! It's a rubber bumper car that will will be dialed back a few years and lowered a spell. BMW/MINI pepper white with, hopefully, black powdercoated wire wheels.

Welcome, Chris!

I'm sure the folks on the Spridget side of the Forum will be happy to chat with you about the project.

Be sure to post pictures.

Super project...welcome & hop on over to the Spridget Forum so we can all be involved in the project (but, you don't want to powder coat those wires unless you're planning on completely disassembling them to coat each piece individually)>
