New Steering Wheel - Suggestions? Help.

After 23 years, and with the recent addtion of a modern manual tranny car, the stock steering wheel in my 76 TR6 suddenly feels bulky, large, and confining. Thus I think I want to finally take the plunge and trade for something fatter, with leather. Any recommendations on diameter?

Can you guys suggest a quality alternative? I don't want holes in the wheel, which are common, but the slotted look that originally came with the TR.

Thanks.

I took the stock steering wheel for my TR6 and slipped one of those real-leather steering wheel covers that required using a stitching needle to sew it on and took a whole afternoon to install it. I must admit that it looks almost like it belongs there and gave my stock wheel a nice, fat, leather grip.

What's the diameter of our wheels (I suppose I could measure it)? 14 or 15"? I'm thinking a smaller diameter would help the comfort level a little bit.

A 14" wheel does not look small and will give you a little more room at the thigh. I have seen a TR6 with a 13" wheel and it looks too small to my eye.

I think I agree - I measured the 6's and it's 14 1/2". It may not seem like much, but I'll wager that small amount makes a difference. Has anyone bought one they can recommend...I note prices have shot thru the atomosphere....like the come with airbags or something.
