Just putting the finishing touches on a new tune, a solo mandolin instrumental. It's still a bit rough, but I finally made a spot on my web site for a few tunes as I get them done.

Current working title is "Boberificus T Cow" though that will change once the song is done. It's a bit of a joke between my wife and myself...

You've got a good strong technique, and I like the music. Stringed insruments are difficult to play well. I studied classical guitar for several years before I packed it in. I just hit a wall with technique that I couldn't get over. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wall.gif Do you play any classical guitar?? You'd be a natural at it.

That was wonderful!
Crossing Borders is awesome too.

I enjoyed them both - the mental image that came to mind while listening was of a hilly, twisty two lane, such as MO Hwy 19 or AR Hwy 9, in my Healey with the top down, the sun out and the temp in the mid 70's. Very pleasant musing.

Stuffed cow?

Thanks for the comments. Rock, folk/bluegrass, and jazz are my main things these days, but I do quite like classical. It's been on my list to learn some classical pieces, maybe even get a teacher for a while, but there's always this time thing...

Tony, my wife and I don't have kids or pets at this point, all we have is a small stuffed cow named Bob. I played the new song for Jenny and mentioned that I didn't have a name for it yet. We started joking that I should name it for Bob. We're a silly bunch. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Thanks to Bob's comments above, the tune now has a name:

"Back Roads"

I think it's fitting.

I'm very impressed by both tunes. Nice work. I gotta play some drums over them /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

It was late in the evenin, just a few of us pickin
But the lady she played so easy and fine
And the chords that she strummed were so tastefully clever
They planted this song in my mind...

I like it Drew, nice work.
