The new side panels i bought for the TF are so screw up that I'm spending hours getting them, not only to fit, but correcting other issues, seeing how the craftsman ship is appalling! Look at the welds on these panels for the upper mounting brackets. This is just one issue! The right panel is welded as it should be, but look at the left panel! I have to spot weld those brackets and grind out the garbage welds that were put there with a Mig welder. I have no idea how this panel ever got out of the factory looking like this! Disgusting to say the least! PJ

This is the right panel bracket, very well done and how their supposed to be.

These are the left panel brackets! Judge for your self. And I guess some feel I shouldn't get POed!

Two different suppliers perhaps.. I wouldn't use the word factory, I'd bet these were handmade by someone supplying them to who you bought from since the volume is probably too low to invest in any tooling or automation to standardize the product. So the question might more relevent be, why didn't the seller catch problems with them?? I doubt they had more than a dozen or so come in at any one time.

Send them pictures and ask what they plan to do before you get real vocal. See if they are remorseful.

Shrug it off as part of the total " Zen-like" experience. The type of connection with the car that only adversity brings. You'll be stronger.

Well I basically said the h3ll with it and am rebuilding the panels to suit me. Fortunately I have the tools to do it with, sheet metal brake, floor mounted shears, spot welder, etc, etc, but I bought these panels from Moss Whom I have contacted, but am getting no reply back! These aren't 10, 20 or 30 dollar items! Look up the price in the Moss list. Sent Mike Grant an email, but with all the emails they get, it could take some time or him to get back to me. Oh well, I know what I'll be doing today!

That's pretty much what I say too. Its enough of a pain restoring one if all the parts fit , all you need is something like this tripping you up too.

Took the panel with the garbage welds and re did it. Cut the Mig welds out and put it back together as it should be. Came out OK. Old Chinese saying,"The Oxen is slow, but the Earth is patient"!:encouragement:. Here's the difference now. PJ

Bad weld job.

My weld job.

Much much better

The Oxen is slow, but the Earth is patient

Well said. Put that somewhere to remember it. After that picture Im really not surprised you happen to have all the tools necessary.
