New rear wiring harness.

Trying to chase the gremlins out of my right turn signal has been an exercise in futility. (Interestingly, no one remembers hand turn signals anymore. Ever try to use a right-hand turn signal and not get a return-wave response from oncoming traffic?) Tried everything so I will resort to the old tried-and-true technique of changing all parts involved. Actually, the front 2/3 of my harness is new, the rear section (where the harness has the big plug in the left foot well and back) is OE, and crusty. I just got this harness section in from British Wiring and have a new turn signal in from TRF, along with flasher. Get juice to everything but these parts so this has got to be the answer. When I get the new harness in, my car will officially be a 2002-2007 model TR6.

By the way, did ya'll know that British Wiring has been sold out. Leslie (with that great Brit accent) and her hubby have decided to retire. They sold to someone in Pennsylvania that has a Triumph restoration business. Hope he keeps the business up to the same level as the previous owners. Anyone that has bought a wiring harness from any of the big vendors has actually bought a BW wiring harness.

Bill,

When I installed the complete car re-wire harness
(Dan Masters Power Block) into Crypty, I also had
problems with the rear lights. The light bulbs
had been pushed in and pull out so many times over
the years, the bulb hole openings had enlarged to
the degree the bulbs were loose fitting and adecent
grounds could not be obtained.

food for thought

Bill, when I was putting my car back together I had issues with the right rears as well. How is your license plate light. The right side of mine was out with the tail lights. The culprit ended up being the ground for the license plate light. It was very much a pain in the keester to chase down.

Dale brings up another possibility. Since the bulbs ground through the holders tension springs. If the holders are loose it can cause an intermittent short.

Good luck.
