Either thru foolishness or whimsey (I'm not sure which), I have become the owner of a 1972 Series 3 88. I have been on the forum before, but in the Triumph section mostly.

As my TR3 does not have alot of capabilities for desert travel on sandy roads, I decided that a new vehicle was in order for weekend excursions to the deserts of California to persue another hobby (Rockhounding, considered by some to be a disease much akin to british car ownership).

Anyway, here I am, I will be asking many questions and hopefully getting a story or 2 in along the way.

Yeah, pictures! I love the Series III SWB Land Rovers. A buddy that I worked with would give me a ride to work in one from time to time, and I drove a couple of them on driving courese that I did. Far more useable than the 109s in my opinion. I am looking forward to hearing more about it. You're a lucky man!
 
Pictures will be coming soon. I didn't mention that this Rover began life in the UK, so she's a right hand drive like my Vanguard.

Congrats! I used a 70 Series IIA as a daily driver for two years back in '91-'93. In the summer I replaced the hardtop with a canvas top. It was like driving around in a Boy Scout tent! Its a labor of love!
