Ok, I know I have been slack at posting lately!! I probally did the unthinkable by most people and sold my 1960 Austin Healey 3000 BT7-- But on a brighter note, I am purchasing a 1975 Mini 1000 with some of the $$$!! It will be my 1st mini, but definately not my first british car. I'm susposed to drive to South Carolina to pick it up on tuesday (12/16). It will be kinda like a B-day present to myself!!

Congrats and safe trip to you...definately need pics when you get a chance.

Since that car is 8 years newer than the last Issigonis Mini sold in the US, will there be a registration problem?

What country did it come from?

Did you buy it from Turky's or Classic Core? I've been dreaming of a Mini for years and I know that they sell some down that way.

Super 7....Outoway will have no trouble registering his car. There's a 25-year exemption on DOT & EPA regulations, and cars up to model year 1978 may legally be imported and sold in the U.S.

His '75 Mini 1000 (if LHD) was probably originally a Canadian car. The last Minis sold in the U.S. were '68s, but Canada continued to import them for about another 10 years.

I got it from Classicore. He was working on a yellow panel when I got there. converting to disc's and 1300. Trip took 14hrs total. And the mini was the talk of I95 on the CB!!

When the weather clears up, I will get some pics of it!!

Nice ride. Did you trailer it back or drive?

Rented a trailer and trailered it back with my Frontier. Nice quiet long drive from here in Virginia to Charleston SC. Too approx 7 hrs each way!! Fun none the less, with a lot of chatter on the CB on the way back about the mini!
