Hello everybody! I usually post on the MG forum as I own 4 MGBs. Well, I just picked up a 72 TR6 on sunday, towed it home on Tuesday and began a new addiction-TRs. I owned a 71 TR6 back in '73, what a great car. This car has been sitting under a carcover and under a carport in Kentucky for ten years. Before buying, I oiled the cylinders, borrowed a battery and turned her over afew times and took a compression test--good engine. Today I put in a battery, sprayed a wisp of ether in each carb and she fired up. All guages worked, I slipped her into first and it moved forward. Hey, the brakes even worked. It moved under her own power to the end of the drive way and back. This not the end of the story, it's my intro to the bcf's triumph forum. I have pretty good mechanical/troubleshooting skills but fall short of a know-it-all by a long shot. I do appreciate the people I've met here and they're knowledge has been most valuable in maintaining my MG's. I hope to be a big part of this forum for years to come. I've already made a three page list of "goodies" and am going to need plenty of help, first on the list is to get the overdrive working. Look forward to meeting ya'll, Bob

So after 4 MG's you finally came to your senses right? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

Just kidding of course, I like B's to. A nice chrome bumper BGT is on my short list of possible next LBC purchases, although it might not make the cut if a nice GT6 is available when the checkbook permits the purchase.

Have fun with the new toy Bob and good luck with her.

Congratulations. After a 40 years of being in the Austin/MG camp, I took on a TR6 about five years ago, and am set now for good.
We may not know any more than the people over on the MG page, but for sure our exhaust is richer sounding. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Welcome to the world of TRs and the Triumph forum.

Jaybird almost never looks in over here so you can say anything you want about her.

Of course when she finds out you got a 'Rumph she will be on your case unmercifully.
