Hi JFS, I think that the Valvoline Racing oils only come in single viscosity ranges . You might want to check this out further. I did check it out and they do make VRI in the multi viscosity ranges. May be hard to find as 20W 50 is listed as "Not Street Legal". It is available from Amazon Com. However, it seems that "Castol 20/50" will get you by.---Fwiw---Keoke-?

The rumor is that Castrol GTX is fine on a broken-in engine, but NOT for a new engine. I'm not willing to take that chance until this all blows over.
There are two good options. One is to use SX-UP additive, which is specifically designed to return modern oils to the proper protection levels for vintage cars. The other is to use Super Speed Sport oil.
Neither is a cheap way to go, but they are both far less than an early engine rebuild.

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif Ahhhhhhh!!!!!!!..... I use Castrol GTX in all my vehicles. I didn't read the article. What's wrong with it? Oldest car I own is the 77 MGB. 20w50 in the MGB and the Alfa.... 10w30 in the rest.
