New MINI idiot lights

Anyone know about the idiot lights on a new MINI.

Particularly the flat tire (no flat) and the traction control coming on at the same time.

Thanks,
Patrick

That means there is a misfunction. When they both go on and stay on. Go to your dealer.

Plug in your OBD II monitor into the main ECU port and enter the code 710 11345. Turn the unit upside down and that will provide to source of the problem :>}

That happens in one of my vehicles (Ford....not a MINI), when there is a heavy load on board.

The ABS unit on the rear hub counts RPMs of the wheel. If one wheel is different than the other, it assumes that there is a flat (due to the smaller radius causing it to turn more). If fact, the wheel may just be "squished down" more due to cargo weight.
Then traction control (also fed by the ABS sensor) sees different wheel speeds but can't "fix" them). In my Ford, there is a reset button....I sometimes have to press it several times until the system "learns" the new conditon.
I think BMW has a bunch of Q&A stuff for the MINI online....you might want to check.

Hey Patrick, read your owner's manual! The light codes are explained there. Also, go to one of the MINI forums on the web, lots of good explanations there.

You can reset the flat tire light, but be sure your tires are in excellent shape before resetting the light.

Good luck, let us know.

Thanks All

I have tried resetting the flat light several times, to no avail. The DSC just won't turn on. Tires pressures are good and they are in good shape as well. The dealer told me it maybe an alignment issue, but it tracks straight.

I will make an appointment for them to look at since it still under warranty. I have parked it for now and started driving my jeep. Scraping together money here for the house closing.

Thanks all
Patrick
