I just have to bubble over somewhere, and my co-workers are sick of it. But, I got to play with one more of the nifties on the B today! I unzipped the back window, I know small and stupid, but it thrilled simple little me. There was nearly as much wind as with the top down, but, I wasn't eyeing the threatening skies so warily. I'll bet that it really comes in handy when it hits the high 90's in a few months.

It just keeps amazing me how well these cars were thought out. They get such a bum rap, but it is not really all that complicated.

OK. Enough bubbling. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif

one of the things for me is it has a similar feel to riding a motorcycle, but with the stability of four wheels and I don't walk around hunched over after the ride!

Hey,

Storms have left my house and are probably at yours as I write, Matt.

My MGB is my rolling sanctuary. Get away for it all and not leave town. As for the small things that get you excited, I was cleaning her up and thought it would be nice to have a chrome tail pipe. Upon inspection and a little elbow grease, I discovered I already HAD ONE!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif No way will I tell you how long I have had my MGB. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif

That all depends on how many stoplights you hit with the top up. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yeah, they were pretty nasty. I work in about the most storm secure place in Ft.Smith all night long, and we even had our lights blink a couple of times.

We are really getting quite the knot of BCFers around here, we should have a get together of some sort.

The drive to and from work in an LBC is the only thing that keeps me sane most days, and weekends under the hood or under the car are what I live for.

I've had my mgb for about 1 1/2 years now and haven't tried that yet - got it with me today though so maybe I'll give it a go. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif

Or how much arthritis you have.
The rear window unzipped is much cooler than with the top down in the summer here in Orlando in city traffic.

I'm a new member here and a new owner of a 1973 MGB. I just took it for a drive the other day for the first time with the top down. All I can say is, Awesome! I was beaming when I walked into the office. This morning it was a bit cooler, low 50's, so I unzipped the rear window... off I went and had an equally fun ride.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Little British Cars (LBC's), Shaun. You've found a great source of information and chatter about the best provider of grins that I know of. Be sure and join the fun by posting questions and comments often.

Shaun, let me join Mickey in welcoming you. Is Hoo's Road out between Lorton and Springfield still a decent run in an LBC or has the area grwn up to much?

Hey Matt,

Sorry for the delay in this reply. How many LBC fans do you think are in the Western Ark/Eastern Okla area?

I know of at least 4 or 5 here on the forum, and anothere one about to move to the area, there is another MGB I see at work on pretty days, and I know of a couple of original Minis around town. I keep trying to catch a show and hand out cards, but they keep timing out with my oddball schedule.

Radford, I'm actually not familiar with that area. I live in Rosslyn, near the Key Bridge and Georgetown and haven't ventured further than Alexandria, via the George Washington Parkway in my "B". Beautiful drive at night though, going North along the Potamc, with the Capital and Monuments lit up across the river...

I'm hoping to take a drive toward Springfield this weekend though, so I'll keep you posted.

Shaun, there used to be a couple of nice little twisty roads out off of Route 1 on the south side of Ft Belvoir. Not sure whether or not the areas too developed now, gosh it was 25 years ago I used to head our MGA around through there.
