Hello, my name is Mike. I just joined this forum and would like to introduce myself.

I'm a long term Triumph owner, bought my first Spitfire, a 77 1500, in 82. A few years ago I started racing a 63 Spitfire (Race car info here) with the SCCA in the Northeast. My wife and 2 sons started to get involved and wanted their own cars. The rule was I'd get the car if they work on the restoration and maintenance. So, the one car multiplied and now we're a 6 Triumph family. My oldest son's car, 80 Spitfire is the next project. He helped me resolve the mechanical issues. The winter project is to get it ready for painting in time for his spring 2012 college graduation.

I'm a member of the Brits on the Hudson car club and Friends of Triumph. I race with various groups in the Northeast and am the web master for the Historic Racing Group ( HRG)

When I'm not racing, I volunteer as a corner worker (Flagging and communications) and driving instructor with the SCCA.

I have to admit that while I love Triumphs, I do own a 77 Mercedes 450SLC and lately I've been getting the urge for an XKE. I need to keep out of the classified section until my sons' Spitfire is ready.

Thanks for letting me join

mike

:savewave: Welcome Mike! You have good taste. This is the ONLY forum for those of us who love our LBC's.

(I think maybe I'm a bit biased?)

Thanks Mickey, Poughkeepsie is MG country so in truth I do have the Spitfire market covered in PoTown.

Howdy Mike,

"Welcome" to "THEE" best Brit Car Forum anywhere, even in Poughkeepsie.

I`m Orig. from NE NJ, Migrated to NE PA & now in NW SC (3yrs). Wish I would have made the move 30yrs ago!! I traveled (Bus. wise) all thru your area & I did`nt realize it was such a popular LBC stop.

Enjoy the ride here.
