Hi All. I'm Frank P. Herrera from Martinsburg WV. As many of you might recognise my surname, I'll just tell you, Yes, I am brother to the late John R. Herrera, best known here as "Two Sheds". This forum and the friends he made here were a great part of JR's life, especially when his condition increasingly restricted his activities. On our trips to John Hopkins, he would relate all the interchanges and contraversies of the week with real enthusiasm. You all made a real difference, and for that I thank you.
As for me, I have decided to keep JR's TR3A, and restore it, not for concours, but a really nice reliable driver. I will have to divide my time, however as we also have a rather demanding 2000 Boxter S, which is close to concours. My British car/Mc creds. go back to 1962 when I went to driver's school at Marlboro in a rudimentry TR 2. It was slow, but would finish. The next year, I got involved w/a WV based racing team, going for SCCA national title. Learned a lot as we went through 4 different Lotuses in 2 years. Then I had an XK 150 coupe, and then a 1957 4/4 Morgan series II, managed a team of 3 TR's 3,4,Spit, bought 2 Bugeye Sprites, sold one for $100. Had a 1958 Royal Enfield 700, and a 1957 Triumph Bonneville 650. My wife had in her past a GT6 and an MGB. She holds no grudges and shares my enthusiasm for the sport as we drive to vintage events all over the east coast. Hope to meet you someday, maybe at one of these. Happy to have been accepted a member.
