Hello

This forum has come up a few times when I have been searching for info so here I am.

I am currently building a Costin Sports Roadster, as well as piecing together a Costin Nathan for someone else, and once thats done I can press on with my T70 replica, no hope for me really.

Cheers

Welcome to ya, Joe! Been a while since I've seen a Costin. Post a picture or two, if you can.

If you interested in Costin stuff checkout www.costins.co.uk their are a few of us on there with Costin projects plus a lot of pics.

Welcome! That's a neat looking car.

Most of us here in North America (where most BCF forum members are from) are more familiar with Costin's work on Cosworth engines and have less knowledge of his cars. Very cool!

I'd have to assume this car uses a lot of MGF parts (a car that was never imported to the US).

Hello, and welcome to the Forum! Great looking car!

Hi

Thanks, yep not many Costins in existance at all, I think it was one of the posts on the Costin Nathans that led me to this forum some time ago.

A few details on the Roadster, the front uprights are vauxhall chevette, as are the swivels, by coincedence the uprights are the same as pontaic fiero, still available in the the US as I know someone who imported a new pair to the uk recently, you could also use a fiero steering rack.

The backend is all bespoke we make the Dedion tube it then has rover bearings pressed in, these are quite a common size used in a lot of the rover range as well as the Lotus Elise.
On the rear hub there are few options off the shelf with either Rover Ford or Honda driveshaft splines, so from there you can make it up as you go along. Theres plenty of room in the back even for a transversed V6.

There is a small group of us that do this in our spare time, we also have a Costin Nathan project on the go.

Thanks
Joe
