Hello, I'm new to this board. I have a 64 AH Sprite that I will be working on. I'm in the process of cleaning up the engine compartment now. and also doing a 5 sp converison.

Hope to learn alot from this knowledgeable group

Welcome aboard, good to see another New Englander.

Welcome, Taz. You'll find a lot of Spridget enthusiasts here, and a veritable wealth of information.
I've got a '64 Sprite, that's about # 5 on the restoration list.

New Englander? Mark, at least us southeastern Pennsylvanians try to distance ourselves from New England! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Here in Albany, they consider PA "the south"!

Ah, the 5 speed conversion. The best modification to a spridget (in my humble opinion). My wife likes driving the car now that it has a five speed. That means she will drive us home from the party if I get sloshed. ;-)

What 5 sp do you have in yours. who's adapter did you use /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gifCan't what to get it all together.

I have the rivergate 5 speed kit with the datsun tranny. It went together without a hitch (except for making a clutch line). Which kit are you doing?

I am going with Morriserivce. A few people that I talked with seem to think his clutch system works alittle better. But these were earler converisons and I understand they have changed some things. Big thing for me was that Rivergate has raised there prices. Paul at Morreserivce has not. If I were going for the higher price I think I would go with the Serra converision. A Co in new england has a very ,very nice kit

What type of issues are you having with the installation? I'm sure Paul can walk you through it. He is on a mailing list that I subscribe to and he always seems very helpful. There are pros and cons to rivergate and morrisservice, in the end I went with Rivergate because they could get the kit to me the week that I wanted to do the conversion, and my car was only off the road for the weekend. (At the time it was my only car)

Mabey missunderstood. Early Rivergate, some people have had some problems. Paul at Morrisservice is great. Talking with him and his prices convinced me to go with his kit. Hopefully everything will be shipped this week from paul. He has been waiting for a new supply of adapter plates to be made.
