I just joined the group and wanted to say hello. I've been lurking for a bit and this appears to be a great site for British cars.

I'm in process of restoring a '66 Sprite that I drove back in high school. I got tired of the car after graduation in 1968 but my Dad wouldn't let me sell it. So he helped me buy another car and he kept the Sprite in the family. My brothers and sister drove it for awhile and eventually Dad parked it and it basically sat in a snow bank in North Dakota until 1999, when I decided to restore it.

I brought it to Phoenix, stripped it down, repaired the rusty spots with new metal and then lost interest. The car sat in my garage on the rotisserie for the past 10 years until earlier this year when I started back at it. It's now in primer and will be painted soon. Just now starting to look at the engine and drive train.

I'm certain I will have questions that some of you can assist with. I'll probably also be able to help others with what I've learned on the project.

Regards,

Welcome, Colin!

1968, huh? Hmmm... we're contemporaries. My first MGB was acquired in '69, first year of college. It went for a quarter million miles before succumbing to road salt damage beyond willingness to repair. That was in '77 or '78.

Good you're jumpin' back onto the resto, another LBC saved!

Howdy Colin,

"Welcome Back" to the Wonderful World of LBCs!

It is nice to hear another LBC is being saved.

Best Wishes in the resto.
