would like to flush and bleed clutch and brake hydralics but don't know what to top it off with. fluid has probably been in for 10 years so guessing it probably would be Dot 3? would appreciate your thoughts. have sunbeam series 4 and mgb that both need to be done thanks much Dan

Hi, Dan, and welcome to the Forum!

Brake fluid, along with oil type, is a HOT topic in the land of LBC's. You'll get lots of input as to what is proper to use in British cars. If you do a search on the topic, you'll find plenty of threads from the past. Here's just one example from a few years ago:

My preference is Castrol/Girling LMA. I remember it being the fluid of choice way back when, so it's what I use.

Again, welcome to the best forum on the 'net!

AutoZone, Napa, O'Reilly's, etc. have Prestone DOT 4 for about $3 a pint.

thanks guys for the info i'll check with teamcc tommorow , they are 360 miles south of here (i'm in fairbanks). and we do have a napa if all else fails. love these lbc's! have bmw z3 but have to have super computer if something goes wrong with it. have been on various forums before but sure great to find one on my favorite cars thanks dan

Dan, I didn't know your location, so I stopped at the first Alaska dealer I found via a Google search for "Castrol LMA Dealers, Alaska". You may well find something in Fairbanks, as it seems to be used in sleds.
BTW, I spent a hellishly cold week at Eielson AFB once. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cryin.gif
