Hello all
Thank you Basil for accepting my membership
My name is Andrew and i live in the UK and have a small collection of Mainly TVRs
These cars although built in small numbers in Blackpool are probably one of the British car makers best kept secrets and are such fun to own and not seen every day due to the numbers built if your ever offered one dont hesitate they are Miles of Smiles and great fun to own
Here are pictures of my little collection
The first car is my 1969 Vixen S2 rebuilt to sprint spec ford 1700 crossflow engine with two 40 webbers and 140bhp probably the best handling little TVR ever made power to weight ratio and handling are just amazing and in many ways the best fun to drive especially on smaller twisty roads and tracks

The second car here is a 3000S and this was built in 1978 and was TVRs first convertable production car 258 built so a rare sight and based on the M series cars however appart from the bonnet the rest of the cars body is unique to the 3000s it was made for about 2 years this car i competed in the Leiage Bregia Leiage Rally in 2013 and she came third and was a joy to drive the 3000 miles through Europe and the Alps and handled the Mountain Passes better than the more modern cars she has a 3lt V6 ford Essex Engine and is uprated to 180bhp and although not as nimble as the Vixen a great touring car and more than fast enough

The Third car started life as a V6 Tuscan however before it came into my custody it was converted to V8 spec which in many ways i would prefer it had stayed a V6 car there where originally 101 V6 cars built and 24 Long wheeled base V8SE cars built however many Vixens and Tuscans have been converted to V8 spec however the V8 cars where more than just a V8 engine they where built to SE spec meaning Special Equipment and i am not aware of any cars that have been fully converted probably due to the difficulty of finding the parts and some are no longer available especially the interior center console when i saw the car for sale i in a way felt sorry for the car as the conversion was more hot rod than period and the interior was very poor however i could see the potential to take on the project and do the conversion properly to SE spec and took on the challenge so 18 months later she is nearing completion and will be a very different car to what i bought and hopefully a period looking restoration with hidden modern upgrades and electrics in many ways it might have been good idea to start from scratch but lesson learned and its been a real voyage of discovery and i know own the mold to make the interior console which i have had made from an original and many other bespoke parts have been made and fabricated
She has a Ford 302 which we will be keeping around 300bhp which is more than enough even though many take it way beyond this but this is to be a touring road car not a race track car so i believe it will be rather nice to drive fingers crossed

Welcome Andrew!
Your fingers must be sore from all of that typing!?
Hope you are getting on well.
Best,
D.

Welcome Andrew! You have an excellent group of cars!

A number of years back, the US TVR club used to do their big, annual meet here in New Jersey.

One time (about 15 years ago), Trevor Wilkinson was able to attend and I got this photo of me and him (below). I have always been distracted by MGs and Austin-Healeys, but some day, I may end up with a TVR myself. I really love the early Vixens. Very neat cars!

Welcome Andrew! You have some great looking TVR's. I have had a few and will get another one this Summer. I toured the factory years ago and that was an experience too. There are a few TVR fans here and the annual meeting is in Carlisle Pennsylvania this May. Eric
