In the late 60's my dad parted with his 1962 Tri-carb, in part to start a family. He kicked himself over the years for letting it go (if he didn't he should have). A few years back I started researching Healey's with the hope of secretly finding a project car for him. Little did I know that he had his eye on one that a friend of his had in the area. Last summer we went out to look at it. A few months later we came home with it. We are now the proud owners of a 1960 BN7. It had a restoration in 1984. It has hardly been driven since then. About 400 miles. It's in great shape, though we're finding lots to work on. I stumbled upon this forum in my search for info on trafficator rebuilds. I couldn't figure out how to connect the wire harness. Until I found the photo's that Bighly posted. Thanks Bighly. Those photo's revealed that I was missing the turn signal contacts that the wire harness connects to. I fabricated some new contacts out of brass bolts by filing and shaping the heads to resemble the original contacts. Got it back in the car on the weekend and it works perfectly. Looking forward to participating in this forum.

You are very welcome. The others here are much more knowledgable than I. You would be suprized at how even the most obscure questions can be answered here.

Welcome to the Forum

And, as one 60 BN7 owner to another, good luck on your project. Great cars to drive, don't let it sit too long.

Welcome to a great forum, Brakin80! I have found this forum to be a really wonderful resource and way to make friends and communicate with knowledgeable people about our hobby. I am sure you will also! I would like to tailgate another earlier response to your post and just point out that Healeys tend to do better if you drive them than if you let them sit. Drive the beast and enjoy all the attention you will get! It is really amazing how many folks notice a Healey! Welcome again, and looking forward to learning from you as you discover things. Regards, Stever

Yes but, Stever, how come everyone who comes up to me has had an Austin Healey in the past? Never happened with my Jag XK140 or my MGB-gt.
