You may think by the list of cars I own that I'm somewhere in the UK, actually I live in Seattle and my current collection includes a 79 Ford Granada Coleman Milne Cardinal hearse in bright Yellow with Audi alloy wheels, I have a 1980 Austin Wedge Princess and a 1979 Austin Allegro Estate and currently on it's way to me from the UK is a 1982 MG Metro. I've always been a British car fan, my first car was a 63 Mini and I've had several Rover sedans, Classic Minis, Austin Americas and Marinas, Rolls Royces and a Triumph Herald. I just got to the point where nothing on US soil was unusual enough for me, so I E-bay UK was my new best friend not to mention I have an online buddy in England who Loves to go on adventures for me looking at cars and he does it for Free! Anways glad to be here and looking forward to hearing about the cars of other members

Wow...in one word.
That Princess is in better shape than the ones I used to see accross the pond years ago. Your collection is admirable sir.
Anyway, welcome and I'd (we'd) love to see more pictures of your cars!

I'll second the need for more pics....Welcome to the forum, it's great to see some of the more unusual british cars around here.

Welcome. What an interesting collection!

I used to live in Des Moines and remember going to the World's Fair (1962?) and getting to play with one of them-thar new-fangled computers- it was a space-flight simulator that you could provide a couple of lauch parameters (I think thrust force and duration) and it'd tell you whether you'd crash and burn, orbit (with apogee and perigee) or get to voyage to the stars. Pretty crude but amazing at the time....

Seattle is a nice place- kind of like Scotland with trees....

If you e-bay any cars in/near Glasgow drop me a line....

Welcome - nice stable!

Welcome! As another transplanted Brit, I am very familiar with each of those cars. I drove several Princesses when they were new and their predecessors, the Landcrabs.......personally I liked the Landcrab, but didn't dislike the Princess. I drove an Allegro pretty much on a daily basis on "business", and I actually owned a 1982 MG Metro! Wouldn't it be a hoot if your new addition was my old car? Not very likely, but stranger things have happened. It's not silver by any chance, is it?

Yea, Way to far from Hollywood to be asking that.

And the wheel is on the wrong side.

My MG Metro is Red with what I guess is a the rare black cloth interior, I'll post a pic of it as it sits on the dock in the UK waiting to be loaded up on the ship. By the way I Also had a Landcrab which came to Seattle via Vancouver Canada

shipping a car to the states is pretty darn easy as long as it's at least 25 years old, I've owned the Metro since early summer and it's a 1982 but it's had to sit in the UK until this month. As long as it gets here after Jan 1 07 as far as customs is concerned it's 25 years old and ok to import. Some states make it more difficult like California which has MUCH more strict emissions standards and make it so you can't liscense a car in that state unless it came from the factory equiped for California emissions. As long as you're moving to a less Nazi State about old cars, you won't have a problem. The Metro will be the 5th car I've imported and not once have I had any difficulty

Always wondered how folks got those exotic cars registered in the PRC. (Peoples Republic of California)

Guess a separate set of rules apply to people of above average means.
