Hey all,

My parents have had an old Austin Healey Sprite (British racing Green) for about 25 years now. Dad used to drive it to work every day, and i remember fighting with my siblings over who got to go in it on the weekends.

its been sitting in my grandparents garage for the past 7 years waiting for dad to fix it up to its former glory. but due to undforseen circumsances this will not be happening for years if i leave it to dad.. so i've stolen it! and am going to start restoring it myself as a suprise for his 55th birthday.

Will start a build thread with loads of pictures etc. as soon as i work out how :p

Cheers,

Josh

Welcome to the BCF, best forum on the "net".
Introduce yourself on the spridget forum and tell them the plan.
You will get mountains of support and encouragement.

And I love your idea. "Good Luck"

Howdy Josh,

How would you like to adopt a step father. I feel its just a great gesture by yourself taking up the task of restoring a car for your Dad.

As mentioned; The folks on the "Spridet" Forum will be more than happy to help you complete the project. One of the Big Key Factors is having "Cont. Motivation" to finish the job!!

Best Wishes & Welcome,

Russ

Hi Josh, and welcome! :savewave: Lots of luck with your project.

Thanks guys  I have a little experience with sourcing parts and a bit of DIY through building 2 Volkswagen golf mk1's. One that I currently drive every day, that has a 2L seat Ibiza GTI engine in it.
I love cars due to my grandad restoring a mk8 jaguar when I was a young kid (a car that I have part inherited since his passing) and due to my dad always being busy and forking out for us kids, I thought it is the least I can do.
Don't have photos just yet but will very soon.
It's a 1966 mk3 sprite. It still resembles slightly a British racing green type colour. My best friend's dad owns the biggest body works in the state and I'm hoping he will help out in that area. Maybe in the mean time I should upload some pics of the jag?
