Hi, I ownned a 1969 alfa for the last 27 years but when I was a kid I always wanted a tr 250. I promise my wife if I purchased a TR 250 I would sell my alfa. I lied. A month ago I bought a nice example of a tr 250. I hid it away in a Garage down the street from my house. I am bummed that I can not drive it for the next 7 months due to the fact I live in Ithaca ny and the salt they dump on the roads around here kinda causes body damage. I would like to see more posts on how TR's are good investments. At least that is what I been telling my wife.

Welcome to the best LBC forum on the 'Net

Slip over to the Triumph forum as there is a good thread going right now which does prove the investment value of these cars.

Enjoy your stay, post lots, and pictures, we really like pictures.

Suggestion - buy your wife a diamond tennis bracelet for Christmas. Put the key to car on the bracelet. When she opens it, she'll be "What's this?" Say "That's the key to the chariot which will carry you as you show off that gorgeous bracelet!"

If you get any good ideas on this, would you let the rest of us know?
We're all hoping to prove this same concept! :jester:

Hi There DMShuman,

1st. "Welcome" to the wonderful world of "LBCs" (Little British Cars) on the "BCF".

I had a `67 Duetto at one time (Project Car) & sold it to a friend of mine here in PA. He has "7" Duettos - "5" `67s & "2" `69s. One `69 is in a "Body-Off" process & Two other Duettos are drivers. Bal. are for parts.

What kind of Alfa do you have? I currently own an `87 Milano (My Sons) purchased from the gent above.

Anyways; Your new acquisition is a "GREAT" Investment as the TR250 was made only one year! Restored examples are bringing in the mid to upper $20K bracket!!

As mentioned; Introduce Yourself and Your "New/Old" toy to the folks on the Triumph Forum. They`ll be glad to hear from you.

We all "LOVE" pics so; Post away on the TR & the Alfa.

Have Fun Here,

Russ

PS: I hid away a Jag XK140 once the same way. It did`nt matter cause after I brought her out the Wifee won`t off the deep end anyways. So; Bring her out on a nice day. It only hurts for a little while!!

Hello, and welcome to the BCF!

Here are some pic's... I will post better one's in the spring. 69 alfa spider and Tr 250 Note: make sure you check out the 95 eurovan camper in the last picture. This is where I will be living for a while after I tell my wife about the TR. (come on it is a joke she knows all about it) She never rides in my Alfa but I think she will in the TR.

I do like that nose stripe and will put one on our Mini! What are the dimensions? And what is the history of those stripes? Weren't they used for racing purposes? Team ID or something?
