Hello all. I am 83 years of age . Last fall I finally realized a dream of mine since I was in my thirties. In my 30's my wife (deceased 2016 after 59 years of marriage) and I were in London, we had rented a car in a different part of the city than where our hotel was. So we hailed one of London's famous "black cabs" to take us to the rental location. Many cabs stopped but when we told them where we wanted to go they all drove off. A local man came to assist us. He asked where we were trying to get to. We told him and he said well that is why they won't take you. It is a poor part of the city and they would not get a fare there to return. However he said what they are doing is not permitted. So he hailed a cab and when it stopped it too was going to drive away and he told the driver he would report him if he did. So in we climbed. After we had driven to our rental I said to my wife this is the most amazing vehicle I have ever ridden in. Before I die I must own one of these. Took me until the fall of 2021 to final buy one (all original) and have it shipped to Canada. It is a bright red 2006 LTI TX 2 silver edition. I have many things I want to fix on the vehicle and I have started to do that. I am hoping that there might be other LTI TX 2 owners on this forum that I can get to know and help me. I will post on, hopefully, the appropriate forums for the help I need. However if anyone on here does own one I would love to exchange experiences with you.

Welcome to the British Car Forum. That's a nice "Brit" taxi! Can I assume that it's diesel?
A quick search found the London Vintage Taxi Association based in the UK. While yours may not be "vintage" they still may offer some technical assistance.

welcome! a bit of a drive but you would get lots and lots of attention at British Car Day coming soon

Welcome to the BCF, Teddy! Happy to hear you finally realized your dream car!

Thanks all for the warm welcome. Yes Glederman8. It is a Ford 2.4 diesel. Recently changed the solenoid on the starter--took me 3 days to find the starter. Was a real devil to remove and replace. I will look into the car club you mention but mine is not a vintage yet. Here in Canada cars imported from anywhere other than the U.S. can only be imported if they are at least 15 years old (including the month)
