Hi,
After having owned and restored a Mercedes convertible from the 60's time has come to try something entirely different. I have always loved the handsome Big Healey and after searching for one for a while I just (a week ago) purchased a beautiful california red -62 tricarb 3000 MkII. It is in great condition but, as expected, some items need to be sorted. The trafficator is very loose and the horn does not work. After having made some research I have concluded that the two brass screws holding it together (one of which also holds the horn wire in place) have come loose. I have read a lot of threads about the trafficator and how to remove and dismantle it and understand that it is a bit fiddly work, but I look forward to getting my hands dirty. Also, the bracket holding the linkage rod betweeen the carbs is loose and the bolts can't be tightened so I will try longer bolts in the hope that there are threads remaining further down, or install Helicoil or something similar.
I have already been through many posts on this forum and understand that I will have much use of it, and that there is a fantastic community out there willing to help if need be.
