Hi. Folks,
Just joined the group.. Having brought a 1979 Spitfire 1500.
It's pretty much restored, new paint job, new interior etc. but the backend transmission is a bit noisy. (first job to look at).
Had a Jag XJ8 for a few years but just sold it and brought a Mercedes ML500. (The Jag was starting to get expensive with 114K on the clock).
The Spitfire’s my new toy for Christmas... It will be pampered and kept in the garage most of the time and not used as a daily commute vehicl.
I’m no stranger to Spit’s thought, I had one from new back in 73 when I lived in England. I was forever changing the Universal Joints then. Got it down to a fine art, could change all three at the back in around three hours. Are UJ’s still a problem with later Spits???
Anyway, look forward to meeting new contacts,
Happy and Prosperous New Year to you all.
Terry
