:driving: Hello fellow members. I am a newbie to this forum and hope to learn and contribute as much as possible. I am a previous 1974 MGB owner which I had spent most of my high school part-time job earnings on back in 1990. Unfortunately that MGB is long gone as it was totaled in a collision with a 1978 280z. Fortunately, my father was able to walk away alive! I am now a proud owner of a California driven 1966 Midget MkII (craigslist/garage)find. It had been garaged since 1978 and sold to me with original pink slip, black license plates, and certificate of non-operation as of 06/78. Plans are in the works for getting it running again after 32 years as I plan to restore it as original as possible. I look forward to making new friends across the land and becoming part of this unique family.

Hi Jay, when you get that Midget on the road, come out on some drives with our local group! We usually get around 35 cars or so on each drive through the local hills in the Malibu area.

new member calling all big healey owners

I have a 63 mk 3000, all apart in boxes. the shell has minimal rust and was garaged for the last 25 years. The engine and trans have been rebuild just prior to storage when i put abour 5000 miles on it. Getting older and questioning my own mortality i decided to put it together again. I am looking for a big healey owner with a webber conversion in the Los Angeles area. I dont want to mess with S.U's anymore, but i have heard issues of overheating with the webbers. So get in touch with me please. I am a welder by trade, first with Douglas aircraft as a heliarc welder and then as a construction welder with my own company "Bernard's welding". Prior to welding i was doing auto body repair and paint work, so the whole thing is kind of fun to me. Dont hesitate to contact me for any welding questions or tips in auto body repair.
Besides the healey, my daily driver is an 84 Porsche Targa, which is a constant struggle between the accelerator pedal and my driver license.
 
Welcome! I love Long Beach, CA! Especially the airport. So vintage itself!!!!
And it has to be the best location for getting all the custom parts you need for a LBC race engine. I visit ISKY, Venolia and everybody in the area each time I travel there. Ed Iskenderian is still sharp as can be at 80+ years of wisdom.

Enjoy your LBC and post all your questions here. Someone will know what you are going through and probably have solved the problem themselves in the past.
