Hello, I'm Wendell Kelley and I'm a new member. I've been a member of our local British car club for a few years but didn't own a Brit car until earlier this year when a couple friends of my daughter that are into tuner cars mentioned they had an old brit car they were going scrap, I looked at it and found it's a 63 Midget in rough but restorable shape. The car is missing parts of the engine (intake & exhaust), seats and is done up to look like a 70 with the paint & grill. Side-curtains and top bows included but no top. Offered the kids $50 and now the proud owner of a Midget mark I. A friend & I acquired a 73 Midget parts car that the body is rusted away bad and the seats are also trash but it has a complete 1275 drivetrain that will go into the 63. Looking forward to starting this project when my current project is finished. My current project is almost finished and is a 70 Opel GT. I'm the second owner of the car and the 1st owner was my sister best friends father. We ended up with it shortly after her father died and my dad gave it to me (he never registered it). It's a california car with no rust and paperwork back to the orginal dealer. My daily driver is a 99 Miata (in BRG) and also doubles as my autocross toy. So admittedly, I like sports cars of any make but most of my favorites are British. Just never had the opportunity to own one till recently. I joined the local Brit Car club at a friends prodding because they are the most active sports car club in the area and has led to many great friendships and opportunities, like autocrossing with the local SCCA chapter and getting our club supporting some other local clubs. Guess this is getting long so I'll stop ranting now.

Welcome, Wendell, to the biggest bunch of enthusiasts around.
There are several of us here with '63 Midgets, and as Tony mentions, at least one more from Alabama.
I've got '61 and a '63, as well as two '62 Sprites, among others.
Make yourself known in the Spridget forum, as that's where we usually hang out.
Jeff

Welcome, Wendell!

I have a Spridget (below) too, as well as a daily-driver '00 Miata.

Check out the Spridget forum!
