Hi everyone,

I recently picked up a '59 Mini in rough condition. I'll be fixing it up this winter, and then it's going to be the platform for an electric vehicle conversion. (It's already been dubbed the EVil MINI, rear badge to come.)

I also have a couple of Miatas that are ongoing projects, but this is my first LBC! I'm really looking forward to joining your community here, and I like the website's new look.

Welcome to the forum. Please post your progress with pictures in the Mini forum. We also have a few Miata's on this site as well.

Have you seen the conversion with a gas power'd generator and D.C. motor as drive? Someone posted that here a few weeks back. Very interesting utilization of charging system aboard and battery bank. Stripped Mini weighs, what, 1K pounds?

OH!! And WELCOME to th' forum!!! :savewave:

Erica, welcome to the Forum.

This is a picture junkie's utopia, the more the better!

And you can't come on the Forum to "just say Hi". That's like saying you can just eat one Lay's potato chip! LoL This is a very friendly and welcoming place!

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the welcome. Pictures will be coming soon, although there's not a whole lot to see yet. I saw the EV Bugeye thread here and a couple other British car conversions out there on the internet, including a Midget and a Mini pickup (my favorite).

I'm working on another EV project now, which I'm learning a great deal from, and planning for the Mini's eventual drivetrain. In the meantime, the first task will be getting the body into good shape. I'll definitely update on any and all project progress as it happens, although I expect it will be slow going.
