New member from very west SC

Just joined so I could contribute to the technical part number questions by others. Prefer the technical aspects of engine design and development.

An electrical engineer by education and trade, but also a car nut. Been loving LBC's for 36+ years since I first saw a silver bugeye in a friends one car garage and attended the Chimney Rock Hillclimb in 1972.

Mostly interested in SCCA production racing, FP and HP. Been racing since 1978. Bought another Bugeye (old HP racer out of FL) just this summer. Debating whether to make it a street cruiser or put it on the track vintage racing. The body was pretty good and not cut up too badly. Taken out of competition sometime in the early 70's. No logbook.

Don't plan to be a daily contributor, but will look at the forum and contribute to questions as resources, background and knowledge permit.

My first race was around '72 (Bridghampton), so similar history.
And like a lot of guys here, I'm an engineer too (ME).

Our low-key vintage club runs some great events at Summit Point, not too far from you, including the upcoming Turkey Bowl on Nov 27-28

No, I'm not a member of the FBCCSC. The landlord of my shop is a member though. He's here in Walhalla too. I know a few of the members who also race or have raced in SCCA. I've been on the FBCCSC site once or twice. Looks like you guys have had some good fun. I don't have a "driver" for the street yet. All my projects are sitting idle at the momemt. A '73 and '68 in the barn here at the house and the "WolfBug" in pieces in another barn and the trailer at the shop. My daughter and I coined that name after my university (NCSU) and "Bugeye". Don't know its year yet. I haven't even looked to see if the ID tag is still on the body. Yeah, yeah- I know the Tigers got the best of the Pack this weekend, but there is always next year. We're a blended family over here in that we have 2 Gamecocks, 1 Tiger and 1 Wolfpacker. Hopefully when the youngest gets back in school, we'll have a Winthrop Golden Eagle. Racing keeps me pretty busy at the shop at nights and on the weekends. Just finished straightening a rear axle housing and setting up a 3.9 with a TranX limited slip. Maybe someday I can get one of the projects finished and have a run up either 28 or 107 out of Walhalla? There are all sorts of good drives across the upstate towards the mountains.

Take care, gotta go check and see if LegalBill has some Repco part numbers listed yet. I collected quite a few catalogs from various parts manufacturers over the years and kept them just for this purpose. Never know when you will come across some NOS parts that need identification.

Yep, Known most of them "Team MOON" Racing boys for 28+ years. Raced against them too. Good thing those two aren't opinionated or you'd have to hog the conversation. I show up every now and again over at ACME. Maybe we'll cross paths.
