Hi everyone...thanks for having me. Im Joe, and live in Northern Ohio, near Lake erie. I dont currently own a British car, but have a "lead" on one and will have lots of questions (in the appropriate forum ) I am not new to cars, but never had a British one. I currently have a '65 Mustang Fastback (guess you could tell by my name...lol) and also a '51 Ford (Shoebox) Custom Tudor Sedan....The mustang is still a long way from being done. I have 4 daughters..the youngest graduating College tomorrow (5/7) and another getting married in sept, so...it goes without saying I cherish my "garage time", but have not been able to afford it much lately...lol..enough about the personal info...on to the car in question.

Its a '65 Jaguar MK2 ...3.8L/4speed with overdrive. I dont have alot of info on it yet, but will share what I know...pull up a chair, as I am told I am long winded..lol...
Its located about 5 miles from me and I was told about it by a co-worker. The lady who owns it is moving (in the fall)and wants to sell everything. I stopped last week to look at it, and was greeted with a garage full of "stuff"(Im being kind..lol)..I could hardly see the car!..The story goes...She bought it from the original owner in '84 with approx 70,000 miles, and it now has 84,000 miles. It used to be her "week-end Baby" in fair weather. It was last registered in '91. That year she never got around to putting the battery back in it and getting it going for the summer...well..the next year the same thing, and so on until she just lost interest in it, and consequently, its been sitting for approx 20 years. The car is 100% complete..including the original paper work.the only thing I seen missing was a chrome strip over the left side headlight (about 8 -10 inches long)She has said that mice has gotten into the interior, but I didnt see any obvious signs of it...remember, I had to move junk out of the way, just to get up to it, so i could only crack the door open and stick my head inside, so there may be damage where I couldnt see. Surprisingly, the wood looked GREAT! I opened the hood, and everything (except a battery) was (appeared) as it should be (but what do I know..Im a newbie to these...lol)and I was able to turn the motor over by hand There was no outward signs of rust, but I was unable to get a good look under it. The paint is pretty faded, and she said she never had it painted, but didnt know about the original owner...It appears original to me. The car has always been kept inside her garage since she bought it..it has never seen snow, and she said she was only caught in the rain in it a few times....I was unable to get to the trunk to open it and look inside it.
I dont think I mentioned...the original owner was from England...so...its right hand drive )
As soon as our weather cooperates with my schedule, I am going back and clear a spot so I can push it outside and do a better inspection. (It seems to be raining here everyday)
So...with all that said...I hope to purchase it and become a regular here, because if I do, I will have TONS of questions (I already have some, but will post in the correct section....thnx to anyone who read this through )

Joe

Sounds like an interesting "barn find" Joe, and BTW welcome!!
I am only familiar with the Jag V8-250 version which they badged and engined as a Daimler. Great touring cars as far as room and comfort go, and if the rust worms haven't had a picnic, the wood is in good shape and the engine turns...what more does one need???

GOOD LUCK & post pics when it's yours.

A very belated Welcome Joe...
Good luck with your "Lead".
Just got my 67 mustang running again, forgot how much fun it is to drive.....
