I just came across the forum while I was looking for something else, as often happens on the internet.

I have had a 1962 Wolseley 15/60 since 2004. I more or less use it for my daily transport - I also have a modern car, but as my daughter uses that one about six days a week, I invariably use the Wolseley when I have to go anywhere. I am a member of, and magazine editor for, the Wolseley Car Club of NSW.

One thing I maybe should mention, before someone says that my car could not possibly be a 1962 model because the 15/60 was replaced by the 16/60 in 1961, is that mine is an Australian built car, and Wolseley 15/60s continued in production for a few weeks into 1962 in Australia, and were replaced in March of 1962 by the Wolseley 24/80. Surviving factory records for this model only show the first body and engine numbers for each year and not, unfortunately, the last ones, so I'm not sure how close mine is to being the last one built. It is the 49th Wolseley 15/60 built in 1962 and was first registered in May of 1962, some two months after the introduction of the 24/80. And a club member, who keeps records of body and chassis numbers, says it has the highest body number he has ever seen on a Wolseley 15/60.

Being an Australian built vehicle, it has a 1622cc engine instead of 1489cc, and a Zenith carburettor instead of an SU.

Does that share body panels with the MG Magnette Farina? Looks similar.

The front panel and grille would be different, as would the bonnet, and the fins on the Magnette were not quite so prominent, but the remainder of the bodywork would have been pretty much the same. The dashboard was different - not sure about the upholstery.

As for the mechanical bits, the Austin/Morris/Wolseley versions had single carburettors and the Riley and MG had twin carburettors.

Don't worry, there aren't any "anoraks" around who would pull you up about what year your car should be! I remember these Wolseleys, the Farina-bodied cars shared a lot of the sheet metal with the Morris Oxford/Austin Cambridge, MG Magnette and Riley. Wolseley was the "posh" brand, Riley the more sporting, Austin and Morris were, well, what was termed as "grey porridge" by members of the motoring press.

Welcome aboard. Your car looks pretty cool amongst all the shade trees and other LBCs. Probably most here will not be that familiar with the Margue to make any comments on the Build Year (For sure, Not Me).
