Good morning, from sunny South Florida. My initial interest in owning a British sports car was way, way back in my Freshman year of college. A college roommate had just been elected to the State legislature, and he decided his Sprite wasn't the proper vehicle for his new status. My dad, however, was against the purchase and got me a Chevy Corvair instead. Less said about that car, the better. About 40 years ago as a college professor, I had that "mid-life crisis" and was looking at either a mistress or that overdue Brit sports car. The wife said, one or the other, I opted for the car. All in all, seriously, I am on my second MGB. Some of us in SoFl have pools. I have a1980 MGB, the money pit with wheels. But, it's a family member, and we just don't throw them away. Looking forward to the help threads that may provide the assistance for my continuing MGB issues.

Glad to have you aboard, "jr". I think you made the right choice - an MBG might be a money pit, but likely less expensive than a mistress LOL!

Thanks, Basil. Yes, all things considered the MGB has proven less expensive and when it runs (and has run) it is definitely a lot of fun that we all have shared. One such memory from years ago involves driving around with my daughter and our Labrador, with the top down. All of a sudden, the dog decided to get a better view, and crawled out of my daughter's lap and stretched out on the folded top and trunk area. It was only a few blocks from home, my daughter made sure the dog was okay, and we still laugh about it. That dog was a born British car type, and when driving around with me, he would nudge the gear shift, trying to shift I assume, into a higher gear for more speed.

Another Floridian!! Welcome! Love the Labrador story.

We're at th' north-south border (Intestate 4) on the west side.
