Greetings everyone. My Name is Chris and I'm from Iowa. I was just given my fathers 1966 Austin Healey Sprite for my 39 birthday. It has been in our family since 1967 when my father was in high school. After he graduated from high school in 1969 the motor blew and he went into the Navy. The car sat in my grandparents garage until 1983 when my grandmother called and said to get the car out of the garage or it was getting scraped. Well dad and I brought it home on a golf cart trailer and started putting it back together. After 4 months we got her back up and runnig. I was the one that got to turn the key and bring life back into this great car. So now fast foreward to last Sunday, my family and I we're out for dinner and my mother said they have an "early" birthday present. She hads me a card and I feel it and say " dosen't feel like a Ferrari.", running joke for the past 15 years, I open the card and there stareing me in the face is the title to the Sprite. This has to be the second most emotional moment next to my childeren being born, I knew someday the car would be passed down to me but not this soon. So now I will have the enjoyment of taking my childeren to summer cruises and the occasional run to the ice cream shop and hopefully someday I'll pass it down to one of my childeren.

Okay, I've got goosebumps. Great story and Welcome. Pics please when you get a chance.

Looks like a great car, welcome from Nebraska, if you want to make new freinds and get a free lunch and you feel adventurous come down to our Show in Lincoln on Sunday, see local events here or www.flatwater.org for details.

My 2nd Sprite was the same color, of course being a young buck I didn't like it and painted it red, now I see so many red and green ones I like the old yellow!

Hi, and welcome to the Forum! Great looking Sprite, we just painted our Bugeye primrose yellow - a great color! :savewave:
