I have been a Healey Fan for years. I was lucky enough as a young man to get a new Healey 3000 from Blanchard Automobiles in Greenwich CT in Sept of 1959. The car was primrose and black.. A friend of mine and I drove the car across country to Wyoming and Colorado. Knocked off the mufflers on the way back in Nebraska crossing railroad tracks. Stopped in Chicago, my friends grandfather lived ther, and had the pipes replaced, was nearly deaf!! Traded the car in 1962 for an FI Corvette, last body before the Stingray. Then traded that in 64 for a GTO with the 3 carb set up. Starte racing in Noeth Fla with a 62 MGB, did Fernandina and Switzerland tracks plus a lot of Gymkanahs (sp). Got married, had two kids so the car bug was interupted by wagons etc. Bought my Mom a 99 230 SLK for her 80th birthday, she loved it, and was a car "Nut" all her life, I won't bore you with all the cars she had.She had more tickets than a dog has fleas. Got the last one 6 months before she died for going 70 in a 50 zone. She passed away 3 year ago, I kept the Mercedes. It has 18,000 miles on it, great little car. Now I have a Healey again, back where I started. When ever I get into it I cant't believe we drove one of these cars cross sountry so many years ago. I also dont fit in to it as well as I did then. But thats another story. I have posted some questions on the board. Glad to be here.
