Greetings everyone. Last summer, my family was in need of a 3rd car that could carry myself, my wife, our three kids - in car seats, my massage table (I am a therapist), be economical on gas and be reasonably priced. Armed with those requirements, I started searching my favorite haunts - eBay, craigslist, etc. Naturally those requirements would lean in the direction of a minivan or a station wagon. So my searches keyed on minivan and station wagon.

Perhaps the car gods were smiling on me or perhaps they were in a particulary humorous mood as one day I typed in "wagon" on craigslist and up came 1964 Morris Mini Traveller wagon. Not knowing what the reception from my better half would be, I printed the listing and went to discuss it with her. Long story longer, after a visit, two test drives and verifying that previously mentioned car seats AND massage table would fit, we went home the new owners of said Traveller.

It is a fun little car! We have been driving it, taken it to local shows, events, etc. The first weekend we had it was the Microcar National Meet here and of course we had to attend.

In the interest of keeping this readable, I will finish. I look forward to sharing, learning and discovering the ups and downs of owning a classic mini. One question before I go, does anyone know production stats for travellers? I know they are few - mine is red/red and not a woody. Any help in this arena is appreciated.

Thanks for letting me ramble!
Peter

Welcome, Peter!

I'll skip the comments about needing a massage after getting in and out of the Trav - I'm sure you've already heard 'em.

With your sense of "perspective" /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif you're gonna fit right in here!

Peter...fun story....WELCOME....hopefully you'll
never need the technical expertise available from
the BCF community...but it's kinda like an insurance
policy...it's nice to know it is here.

Great story. Yep, you're gonna fit right in here.

Thanks for the responses. I really appreciate them. I will post more questions, comments, and thoughts as they come to mind. I think this is going to be fun.

Thanks again,
Peter

Welcome Peter!

I'm a former Mini owner (several) and, as luck would have it, this is my first week of physical therapy ever (pinched nerve in my neck....lotsa "pins and needles" in my left arm).

Anyway.... Sox or Cubs?

(Honestly, I don't follow baseball that closely, but my Southside-born, son-in-law always asks every Chicagoan that question /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif )

G'luck with your new Min /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif
