HI All:

I am a new member in Charlottesville, VA...recently relocated from Durham, NH. I have a 76 Midget that I purchased three years ago. Never have been much of a mechanic, but have been able to solve most problems on my own...and with the periodic help of a forum or listserve.

Right now, the car will not start. I had it shipped down to virginia as part of our household move. Started fine in New Hampshire when they put it on the truck...when it arrived two weeks later, it would not start and was out of gas. I filled it up, but still it would not start. I noticed that the fuel pump did not hum when I turned the key. No power from the coil and I do not get power from the fuse box when I switch the connections. I'm vexed and don't know if it's the coil, the solenoid...?

Been trying to play with it between work and kids, but so far, no luck.

Would love to hear from any members in or near Charlottesville. I can't wait to get the car out onto some of the country roads hereabouts.
