MGB New Member - '77 MGB

Hey all, new member here. Those who post on MGBExperience know me as jrp316, and all my little episodes with my B.

I have a 1977 MGB that I received as a college graduation present in July; to date, it has leaked everything except antifreeze and just sprang another fuel leak (I'm just gonna replace all the fuel hose, another piece is shot).

Thanks, Tony. I think I'm going to go ahead and replace all the underhood fuel line that I haven't replaced already (about half).

My B seems to love to keep me entertained; just the other night, I'm emptying some old oil that I drained out of the rear axle and the trans and a valve-like thing falls out. Turns out, the valve was the low pressure relief valve in the OD; I removed what I "thought" was the OD drain plug. Nope...it holds that valve. There's no drain plug on the LH overdrive. Good thing I found that little puppy; it goes for $113 or so in the catalog. But, it would've cost more had I not found it, driven the car and blew up the OD. :p

I know how to rattle on, don't I?

Hehe...well, the first fluid I found after I drove it home was of the brake variety. No wonder I had near flat brakes on the first ride home :p.

I went ahead and replaced the fuel hose sections that I hadn't already done, with new hose clamps. I'll be happy with no flammable leaks and a non-FUBAR overdrive.
