New MC leaks

Put a Moss sourced master cylinder (not TRW) in the car. Was extremely careful fitting pipe threads. Seemed tight while screwing them in but no complete lock-up like a cross threading. Had leaks at both pipes. Threads both bottomed out and re-snugging them had no effect. Threads on pipes and MC show no cross threading. Anything I can do with this or go back to Moss on warranty.

Well- after taking deep breaths and counting to ten numerous times, I removed the MC, again, chased the threads, examined them carefully- really carefully. Could see nothing wrong. Reinstalled slowly and with attention to detail. Leaked. Again Off to Autozone as I'd seen in an older previous post to purchase a brake wrench w/ flex head. Tighten twice more and then the third try pushed to a level I feared breakage. So far so good, haven't seen a leak. Bled once w EZbleed, hoping one more round tomorrow will do the trick.
Sometimes I wonder if I'm too stupid to live.

Over-cautious can be a curse. The bubble flairs need to seat. Up to a "crush" torque.

My major concern is just like what the Hubble mirror underwent: metric measurements assembled with SAE in mind. If the MC threads are SAE, you've likely got it right now. Fingers crossed! 👍

If the problem persists, check the depth of the ports and threads in the master to see if the tubes are being pushed all the way in.

Good point. If the ferrules on the lines are shorter, or the flares crushed in the old MC to a shorter depth than the aftermarket MC ports can accommodate, there's an issue. The depth of the new MC ports could be deeper than the original, "lowest bidder" makers are not unheard of.
