Hey everyone,
My name is Mike Clifford, and I'm a 24-year-old who works with my dad at our vintage race shop. We take care of a huge variety of cars, from Elva 200 formula juniors to a Lola MkI to Ginetta G4s. My favorite car though is the one I've acted as test driver for: a 1965 Lotus Cortina! I get a couple opportunities a year to drive it, and more often than not take the opportunity to tape and upload the sessions to Youtube. I included the link to my videos in my signature if you're interested.
Before the race cars, my first British experience was a Triumph Spitfire 1500 I built with my Dad in middle and high school. It turned out so well, I daily drove it all year for almost 3 years-in the Northeast! It was a great little thing...I miss it sometimes. You can see it did look a little piecemeal, but I loved the old gal.
My newest and most exciting project just arrived on my birthday-a 1964 Elva Courier MkIV! It's pretty thoroughly destroyed at the moment, but I'm really looking forward to rebuilding it and eventually getting it back on the track! Here is how it sits at the moment:
I'm looking forward to using the forum during the process and as a way to share my vintage racing adventures! I have pictures of some of the other cars in the shop and I'd be happy to share them wherever is most appropriate if there's interest.
