Have isolated, I think, my big problem to the rear carb.

Blocked it off and started car up, ran at about 1500 RPM, released the block and blocked the front and wow, had to shut it off.

Guess which one gets torn down tomorrow. Not sure what I may see but that is the bad guy.
 
You know me, I could not wait.

What I did is change out the rear throttle body to another that is a bit better, ie it has better bushings in it, not great but better.

Now I am back to where I was, starts, idle 1500 etc etc.

Will call Joe Curto in the morning and get his permission to send two throttle bodys for new bushings, shafts and rods, oh yea a new set of corks and washers as well. About worn these out. All the rest of the replaceable items in the carb are Joes parts so should be ok.

Seems like just a bit of air is a killer, not some, just a bit. If you can feel any wiggle in the shafts at all it is too much.

Anyway that is the next step and I thank you for holding my hand. Getting dark and kind of cool here. All done for today but at least I have a plan.

As you know will be out of town for a couple so this is timely in any case.
 
Jack , it almost seems like you don't even stop for meals of course it is a little warmer there than here. I don't even want to go outside.
