New Healey on its way?

James, I believe you are accurate on all accounts. i haven't read too much about the vette in years and my memory didn't serve me to well. Just checking one of my books it confirms that the Corvette was the brainchild of Harley Earl, and Zora-Arkus Duntov was brought in to revive a shaky project. Again I'm not sure but I think he was responsible for the speed enhancements to the 265 cu in V-8 and then much more. I believe the Duntov cam was first used in the 283 V8. Again I'm not sure.
Anthony, you know I was just ribbing ya. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

As I recall ZAD was brought in to make the Corvette a proper sports car- the original ('53-4) with a 235 cid straight 6 with an automatic didn't have the performance required. I believe he was first involved with the general development of the small block in '55 and then more fully with the '56-7 model Corvettes when the original Thunderbird was introduced. I always thought Ford was guilty of a gross error in judgement making that a four-seater later.
