New guy with a Midget

Flipped a 83 Yamaha dirt bike and came home with this.1971 Midget, runs, drives, stops, smokes a little.I'm surprised at how little rust it has,has a small spot on the lower left fender and a small spot on the very bottom of the A pillar by the rocker on the same side,I've been going over it with a pick, hammer and a magnet and the thing is solid.Interior is in good shape, one small burn on the drivers seat by the emergency handle, dash is cracked, door panels are real clean, not much in the way of carpet, gauges work except for the temp.Top is usable, has a few small tears, came with the fill cockpit tonneau cover and it almost looks like it was never on the car.The bright work cleans up good with a little polish.Has some issues,no headlights, missing door handle/outside mirror/window crank/a few badges/rocker trim, bit of a misfire at 3000-3500 RPM/painted with a brush and a roller now

but overall it seems good.To me the mechanical stuff is easy, rust is what kills you and it doesn't seem to have a lot of it.

Welcome to the Forum!

welcome aboard.
your car is pre October 71 and it has been detoxed meaning it had an air injection system removed. hence you have an extra slot on the pulley and the mounting bracket on the thermostat housing.
