Hello. I live in Okalhoma City. I have had several British cars over the years (Spitfire, TR6, Land Rover, XKE), but have not had a Brit hobby car in a long while. I am looking forward to getting back into the fray!

Welcome, Txjake - this is the place, a great place to discuss all LBC's before jumping back into one. Which one do you think you'll be looking for?

Welcome to our humble forum! I drive through OKC all the time when going from home (New Mexico) to Huntsville, AL (for work about once a month on average).

I am thinking Jag sedan or maybe a Jensen. Basil, give me a shout when you are passing through, if you have time for a beer or something. I work out at the FAA Academy

Usually when I'm traveling through it's on business and I'm trying to make time (it's an 18 hour drive one-way), but if I find myself on a trip where I have some extra time I'll certainly let you know. What do you do at the FAA Academy? One of my son's went to UPT up at Vance AFB (Enid) just a couple of years ago and it looks like he will be headed back to Altus, OK for KC-135 AC School in Feb.

I am an instructor for aircraft certification. We mostly instruct FAA engineers and inspectors who deal with new aircraft.

I did work for Boeing for a while and we rebuilt KC-135s for the airforce. Awesome old plane!

You probably know of the Jensen Owners Club which has many US members. Their Events Diary lists few things happening in the US as well as the UK and elsewhere....

Welcome.

did not know of this site, thanks! love Interceptors.

Hey, TxJake, good to have some more Okies on here. Don't know just how many of us there are, but not many I don't think. No pins on the map anyway, but then I haven't bothered to add one for myself yet either. Welcome aboard, this is a great place for LBC lovers/owners.

We do have a lot of Okies, but not all of them as active as others. The map only reflects a very small percentage of members here. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I'm still pretty new here, so maybe I've missed something, and I don't mean to be presumptuous giving advice to the Emporer, but it seems to me it would be a good thing to have a member list sorted by location, Basil. So we could see who all else is close to us geographically. Just a thought.

You can get one yourself using the Profile Search facility from the "Entrance" page. Just check the box for location and put "Oklahoma" in the box for the search term. I did it and got 28. If I use "Ok" I get 68 but this includes partial strings so I get all those that used the full word Oklahoma and those who used the "OK" abbreviation and any other that happened to have the two letters "ok" together- like for "Stoke, England" so a lot less than 68 really are where you wsnt to find them... and if people just put the city/town in and leave the state off they're lost too- so someone that just says they're in Tulsa doesn't get caught in the search by state name.

Hope this helps....
