New guy in Brisbane Australia

I have finally done what I have threatened for a few years, and bought a BT7 with a 289 V8 and toploader transmission.

My Dad was an active member in the local Austin Healey club in Queensland in the 1970s. He also owned a racing car that he drove at Lakeside International and Surfers Paradise International Raceway. He always had to resist the urge to modify his Healey.

I don't have the same willpower...

I have a couple of muscle cars - both Australian and American. I have always had an interest in Cobras and have had a couple of replicas over the last decade. One was an 870 horsepower weapon, so a mild 289 is a nice step back to reality.

I have so much to read here on the forum, and I hope some of Dads mates don't form a lynch mob when they first see my car!

Thanks Elliot,
The car is being loaded into a container from NY to Australia this week, but here's one pic...
