Hi . . . . and as you will soon find out . . . I am new . . . and full of questions. After those who wasted their time reading my lengthy introduction. You have by now concluded I'm at the beginning of "my last purchase" of an Austin Healey, in need of a complete restoration. I know full well that my question is the last one on my list of things I will need to do, but I am new to the area and since it always takes me so long to make up mind and decide on who, when, where, what and how much . . . . I am looking for a respected painter person in the classic car arena. Given how long it takes to wait on a good painter's list . . . . I thought it best that I start now. ANYBODY GOT ANY RECOMMENDATIONS? I an in Florida now . . . but I live on the R.I. - Mass border (Swansea). Anyone want to stick their neck out . . . roll the dice . . . take a long shot . . . . help?

can't help with recommendations - but welcome from Oswego, from Canton, from Albany, from Schenectady, from Philidelphia, from Syracuse, from Swansea, and of course Bonita Springs.

:D :bananawave:

Sorry you haven't got any BCF help after a week!

Once you've got the car ready for painting (and it sounds like that's going to be quite a while ...), contact the British Motor Cars of New England club. I'd suggest Tom Bernier or Chris Young:

Tell them what you're looking for, and your estimated timeline. They know the Swansea area better than I do.

Or of course ... you could do the spray job yourself!

Hope this helps.

I would say "Automotive Restorations" in Stratford, CT, but they are expensive, so

these guys did our BJ7 Healey for Concours Gold - in Suffield CT, just north of Hartford, Twin Brooks Restorations (860) 627-9883

Thanks Tom! Your information is most appreciated!!

I would suggest you go by Hot Rod shops. They are used to painting old cars and don't whine about fenders and doors that have to come off the car.

Thanks Jerry . . . . that's a great idea! Now I guess I'll have to start looking for some reputacle Hot Roc shops! ! !
