So glad to be a new member of the BCF. Recently purchased a 79 Midget 1500 and the fun begins. Lots of work to do and the first challenge is to figure out how to unlatch the hood/bonnet. Can’t wait to interact with the great members and tap into their wealth of knowledge.

welcome! assuming the cable still is present and works if you sit in the drivers seat to the left of the console with the radio should be a T-handle. This is unlatch the hood, then there is a second latch under the hood fron on the right.

Hello and welcome to the forum

Post that question in the Spridget section and you should get some suggestions on how to get the bonnet up if there is an issue with the cable.

Welcome to BCF! Great little car you have there. You will find our "Spridgets" forum the place you'll want to hang out (Spridgets is where we discuss Midgets and Sprites, since they are so very similar)
