Hello Forum,

I am working on a sprite MKII. and among many parts needed replacement are the floor boards. i orded the floor in two parts. and i needed to make a few changes on them. for which i looked at my Sprite MK1. and one change i noticed are twoo drain holes in the floor boards on my MK1 which my New boards do not have. MY original floor boards where to rusted and party replaced by a prev. owner.
I also asked my suplier to check his own Sprite MK1. but he does not have this drain holes.

My question,
I want to rebuild my car as original as possible so,
From what models (Chasis nr) are these drain holes introduced . and when where they dismissed.

My sprite MKI : X
sprite of my supplier : 0
Sprite MKII : ?

I have taken a few pictures of my own Sprite MK1 Floor boards to show what i mean : (The Oval holes closed by a rubber grommet)

Man, the man is useing lead. Wonderful.

Welcome to our mad house.

Oh yea, Bugeyes had round drain holes.

Drill a couple of holes. I think my '68 has some sort of shield under there so water can't migrate up there. I plugged them up on Bugsy when I used press and stick floor tiles to replace the tarpaper on the floor as a sound deadener.

jlaird, i am not yet using lead, what you have seen on the pictures was the lead used by the factory. not my work...
but i do plan on using lead when i ever get to that stage..

healeyboz had the oval holes, on his MK I
blkcorvair has them on his 75 1500
So i can conclude it should be on all sprite floors !!

I have to mark to folowing :
I looked trough all different part supplier books. but none supply a plug for it. it seemst to be exactly the same plug as the inner sill plug. but the books seems to tel a car has only 2 of those plugs(Left and right sils), not 4 (both left and right floor plugs.)
