Any New England area members interested in getting a Sunday morning coffee thing going somewhere in a central location in or around the Worcester, MA area? I saw a post recently where a car club in CA was doing that. I thought it would be cool to get together on Sunday mornings from about 8:00 - 11:00. Just a thought.

Not necessary to post your personal Sunday morning event planner in this post, it was only a thought

Re: New England are members

I'd love to joy you, but that's my golf day.

Re: New England are members

I'd be up for it! Some of the local Ferrari owners here in Mass do this sort of thing regularly on Sunday mornings at three different Starbuck's locations on the North Shore, South Shore, and Metrowest. It works out pretty well, and makes for a fun informal gathering.

Re: New England are members

Sounds like alot of fun, but the wife has me doing more than I want on Sunday!

next time thou...

Re: New England are members

I'm a bit far from you...

But I'm otherwise occupied on Sunday mornings, anyway! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

This brings up a good point that caused a lot of stress with the Ferrari guys when trying to start these up. No place is good for everybody. It's better to pick a few different locations than to try and find one place that makes everybody happy, because it doesn't exist. If a particular location isn't close for you, you just won't go there on a semi-regular basis.

There was even some talk of a BCF get together. Not sure what ever happened to that.

Stress relief is exactly the reason I bought another Triumph. Lack of stress is the reason I have no plans to join any car clubs or enter any car shows. That's why I thought this venue might be a good thing to get started. If you can make it some Sundays, great, if you can't make it any given Sunday, nobody cares. What could be better? The stress comes when you try to cater to any or each individual person. I'm going to throw it out to the MG guys too and see if it gets any legs.

It can't happen. We are all virtual.

Based on attendance figures, I always assumed my garage was the unofficial meeting spot on weekends. Beer and coffee seem to be the drinks of choice. Use to be a time when the Catholic Church had a stranglehold on that time slot around here. Wonder how that's making out?

Probably why I'm not at your garage on Saturday afternoons!!

Last year, there must have been a month of threads and posts trying to organize BCF gatherings across the country. All led to a big, fat zilch.

While there are random individual meeting ocurances at shows, etc., there haven't been any "organized" get togethers AFAIK. Pity.
Most car shows of any size would welcome a club/group specific gathering point if it meant a higher registration.

FWIW

ps:anyone else on the E coast going to the invasion at Stowe???

If anybody is still interested in an informal get together on Sunday mornings, a few car folks have been meeting at 9am at the Starbucks on Rt9 in Southborough, just West of Rt85. So far it's been mostly a few Ferrari and Porsche, but I brought my Triumph this morning and received a fine welcome. In fact, my $6000 Spit got just as much interest from the few bystanders mulling around as did the $120,000 Ferrari it was parked next to /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

I would NEVER EVER park my Spit next to anything as exotic and expensive as a $120,000 Ferrari. Their doors are too long and might put a door ding in my car and I'd be P*ssed!

Heh, you'd think you were kidding, but the eight year old in the passenger seat of the 430 did almost ding my Spit with his door. Nobody would have been happy with that. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Just another heads up, if anybody is interested. There's going to be another informal 'cars and coffee' meet at the Starbucks on Rt 9 in Southborough, MA this Sunday at 9am. One of the guys who has shown up before was handing out fliers at the Kimball's cruise night last night, so there's hopefully going to be an interesting mix of different types of cars there. I'm going to be there in my Spit. It would be nice to see some more Triumphs there!
