my new clutch hydrolics came in today.....
the threaded end on my line fits right inside
of the fitting on the hose going to the slave
that came with my kit....but, the hole in the
master cylinder is too small for my connection
to screw in /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
anybody know whats goin on and maybe have a fix?
adapter maybe?

Zimmy,

sorry dunno, can you post a pic it makes it easier.

If we can get a look at the master cyl, we might be able to figure out what type of threads we're dealing with. Then we could probably find something on mcmaster.com or some other industrial supplier.

On my master cylinder there is an adapter that reduces the fitting size. Maybe yours has a different sized adapter?

Ohhh ... Now I see. there's a stock adapter of some sort from that thread to the pipe's thread. I'll see if I can't dig one up and have a look at it for you this weekend if no-one beats me to it. If we could figure out what size threads it adapts, we'd be in good shape to find replacements. I think the stock hose is a bubble flare item. I don't know about the cylinder. I have a bunch of worthless (rebuildables) lying around which I'd as soon be rid of. I might be able to get you the necessary part if we can't figure which one to buy from elsewhere.

i dont have ANY adapter.....boohoo....
maybe get one at auto parts store eh?
just more delays!...someday, someday,........

the master cylinder hole seems to be the same size as the bleeder on the slave....it threads in.....

Are you sure there isn't an adapter?

There is a so-called ataptor that fits between the clutch master cylinder and the steel line. Some of the later master units did away with the "adaptor". Maybe someone tossed it. You can re-flare the steel line and put the smaller fitting on the end. you can buy those from VB, otherwise you need to narf an adaptor somewhere....it may be on the old MC. they look like part of the unit. but it will have flats on it to remove it.
