New Carbs

After running the same set of incorrect, worn out, and nasty carbs for years, I finally got around to having a set redone by Jimmy Hilton.

I can hardly wait to put them on, and actually be able to sync the carbs, and have the idle stay where it is suppose to be.

Quite a difference between the old and new.

I surely wish my dash pots were that preaty. You know I do have a second set I could get done up real nice. Hmmm.

A good buffer, some jewelers rouge, an old pair of dash pots and your in business Jack.

I tried polishing the bells on an old set of carbs by hand, and I never got near the results that Jimmy provided. I imagine with a buffing wheel or a stationary buffer, they will shine up just fine.

I know they don't help the performance of the carbs, but they sure do look nice.

I am working on cleaning up the intake so the whole assembly will look great. I still have to order a new heat shield to replace my ratty looking one.

I think the trick on old dash pots is to sand them first with finer and finer sand paper to get out all the pits and get them real smooth then power polish.
